  1. Really excellent article! The best I’ve read yet.
In your opinion, Coco, are the media and individuals being too hard on President Jonathan?
I can understand how he could be over his head in this situation–even running a poor, sometimes corrupt, country would be very overwhelming. But to me, from the little I have seen from my thousands of miles away, all legitimate excuses for ineptitude in the face of Boko’s Baddies have been overshadowed by how he’s seemed to display a greater desire for his office than for the young women’s lives.
If he has, at his core, the heart of a humanitarian leader, a heart that’s been repeatedly silenced by circumstances beyond his control, he has certainly not shown it.
But, again, this is from the perspective of an American, and your opinion is of far greater value. What say ye?

    1. The media has surely hounded him for most of his tenure, usually without cause. But this time, he surely deserves this. His reelection has become a source of trouble both within his party causing defections and counter -defections and also outside of the party. This situation should be considered from his position as a President, not as a person but he seems unable to separate the two causing conflict of interest.

  2. Thank you. I appreciate your insight and native perspective.
It seems you hit the nail on the head–this crime requires a sweeping Presidential, forceful reaction, yet fueled by the outrage of a father. Rather, he brought neither to bear, considering instead his personal aspirations. Very disappointing from afar; I can only imagine how raw your nation’s citizens’ feelings must be on the subject.
Our prayers persist. Be well, sweet sister.

  3. Good morning CoCo,
How are you doing? I was writing a post last night about BoKo Haram. I’m glad I didn’t post it because I saw one of the girls father. He was watching the video of the girls to see if he could see his daughter Mary. He is devastated . It broke my heart to see him cover his eyes not wanting people to see him cry. He is one of many mothers and fathers crying. He said no trade should be made because there is no way they can be trusted. I already thought about that. I was reading the Qur’an last night to get a better understanding of what terrorist can expect in the after life. This may sound crazy, is there an order have to read the readings in the Qur’an? Like me I look at what I need help with and go to that scripture. This might be wrong to Muslims, I have almost 50-75 translations of the Bible on my phone and can listen to at night. It really helps me when I’m very depressed. Did you give any more thought to me coming to see you? I could bring my own sheet. HAHA 🙂 Talk to you soon.

  4. Hi CoCo,
I was making a joke about coming to see you. I read the comment you made about putting a sheet up for privacy. That’s why I said I can bring my own sheet. Guess it wasn’t that funny. I don’t know why I asked you about the Qur’an. It must have been late and I got confused on who I was talking to. Sounds like a lot is going on in the government with this talk of creating new states. I haven’t finished reading the article. I did read your last blog on State of Emergency. That was great for people like me who don’t understand how the government works. Not to mention having no clue about the different states. Have a great day. Talk to you soon.
